Will my pre-existing conditions be covered?

A pre-existing condition is any illness, injury, or medical condition that existed before the start date of your policy. How insurers treat pre-existing conditions varies significantly between plans.
Full Medical Underwriting (FMU)
Under FMU, you disclose your full medical history at application. The insurer reviews it and may accept all conditions, exclude specific conditions, apply loadings, or decline the application. This gives you certainty upfront about what is and is not covered.
Moratorium Underwriting
Under moratorium underwriting, you do not declare your medical history at application. Instead, any condition for which you have received treatment, advice, or medication in the past five years is automatically excluded for the first two years of the policy. After two consecutive years claim-free for a condition, it may be covered.
Which Is Better For You?
It depends on your individual medical history. We will review your situation and recommend the most suitable underwriting basis for you. In general, FMU provides more certainty and is preferable for clients with a complex medical history.
