Does my plan cover maternity and newborn care?

What is Typically Covered

Most comprehensive international health plans with maternity cover include: normal delivery, cesarean section (planned and emergency), pre-natal consultations and scans, post-natal care, and complications of pregnancy. Some plans also extend cover to the newborn from birth for congenital conditions.

Waiting Periods

Almost all plans impose a waiting period before maternity benefits become available. This is typically 10 to 12 months from the policy start date. It is therefore critical to ensure maternity cover is in place well before you plan to conceive.

Newborn Cover

Some plans automatically extend cover to the newborn for the first 30 to 90 days without requiring a separate application. After that, you need to add the child as a dependant.
